Home to the driest golf course in the world (you're essentially looking at the fairway), Coober Pedy is Mad Max-ville if I've ever seen it. You couldn't make a town that's more ThunderDome if you tried. An opal mining center, Coober Pedy supports inhabitants who live in subterranean dwellings carved from the hillsides with mining boring equipment. And sculptures harvested from abandoned vehicle parts decorate the knolls. It's a whole lot o' tetanus waitin' to happen.
