Each town in Bali is renowned for some particular art or craft. You can blow past quaint villages on a motorscooter and marvel at sequential towns filled with only one specialty each - this village woodwork, that town stone gods, this one instructors of a particular traditional dance, etc. The competition in each village must be ferocious since your neighbors don't diversify! Concentrated supply means wickedly good deals, and virtuosic quality.
