The ruins of Angkor are not just one complex. Strewn around the capital are a network of interconnected temples and edifices, some more remote than others. Usually a 'farang' (foreigner) like myself has to hire a vehicle driver for the day to see the more distant structures (which have only recently become accessible, since previously the Khmer Rouge controlled regions outside the main tourist centers). I opted for a motorbike. And it doesn't matter how rustic or distant the ruin, when you approach on your motorbike, a throng of bored children come to life and erupt into verse "Mister Mister! You want a souvenir? You want a cold drink?" Usually they'll ask you your country of origin and then inform you of its capital in your own language (I had them stumped with Bulgaria, they hated that one). This little lady was selling scarves at Preak Ko, in the Rolous ruin group. Even when you're on the opposite side of the planet, you still can't escape the power of Walt Disney (note the shirt).
