A pleasant portrait strafed with barbed wire; apt for this country. The Killing Fields of Choeung Ek were the execution and dumping grounds for 17,000 Cambodians at the hands of their own people, the Khmer Rouge. Needless to say, a visit there is pointedly Dachau-like. It's a very quiet, peaceful place now; I lessened the weight of it all by befriending this little group through the fence.
