Most every young man in Cambodia tries his hand at the Buddhist monastic life for at least a month when he's around 18 years old. The most visible requirement is that you shave your head (hair and eyebrows) at least every 3 weeks. I shave mine once a week (ok not the eyebrows) so I think that qualified me as an honorary member. come to think of it I DID have an orange shirt on...
