OK this is case in point that you gotta be flexible. Semper Gumbi. My motorbike driver and I rode out the dusty road to the ruins of Bakong, in the Rolous Group. The stone complex was massive and impressive, but not so photogenic. But tucked off in one corner was this quaint little Buddhist temple, with a luxuriously colored Buddhist mural running along a shaded wall, with three smily young monks sitting in the shade, "chillin.'" After I regained consciousness, I shot some of my favorite pictures of the whole trip. The three didn't speak English; fortunately my outgoing driver Sina joined us and chatted them up while I shot away. Every Buddhist temple has a donation box or offering plate, and I find it appropriate to at least donate some small token to the temple when its officiants have been so accommodating as to pose for me.
