Just as in the Dominican Republic and many Caribbean countries, baseball is an obsession in Cuba. And for young boys it's a potential way out of the life situation they find themselves in, if they're lucky enough to be among the very best. This was shot in front of the Capitolio Nacional in Havana, which is an architectural tip of the hat to the Capitol Building in Washington D.C., which surprises many people. It was built in 1929, long before the Communist Revolution, when the leaders of Cuba were still effectively controlled by Washington. The building is largely historical now (since there is no Senate or House of Representatives anymore).
