misty morning, Zell, Germany back to EUROPE 2 gallery
another misty morning in Zell, Germany. this could be a hard picture for some cameras to take, owing to the fact that there is nothing of AVERAGE brightness in the entire frame - it's all blacks or whites. so in order to get a generally centered exposure, it's best to frame an even amount of blacks and whites in the camera and THEN take your exposure reading. if you read the light JUST in the blacks, the camera will try to compensate and lighten it up way too much. and if you try to read JUST in the whites, the camera will also try to compensate and darken everything drastically. generally (when possible) you want to meter for exposure where the light values are most average (or middle tone).
