return to Tibet gallery

Like a number of indigenous cultures including the aborigines from Australia and the native Americans, the traditional Tibetan artistic aesthetic embraces bold primary colors. There's no fear of clash or gaudiness here, just blast through that rust and plaster with a Lite Brite nuclear palette. I remember walking down a street in the Dominican Republic and noticing how every house was painted the color of a child's imagination (wasn't that how the hallmark ad went?). With the exception of Miami, we're a little more earth-tones and pastels in the US of A, maybe a little too much methinks.
