For how impressively bulky and mammoth the yaks can grow, the are really just big dogs at heart. Every yak I met had the countenance and disposition of a sleepy terrier. They couldn't have been sweeter, and in fact more than one yak physically jumped and looked quite scared when I would come walking around a corner with my big backpack.
